A "Performance" Liturgy

My efforts are but a meager representation of what true worship should emulate. I am a sinner saved by your grace. As I look to the symbolic cross on the stage, my mind drifts to a picture of your Son, Jesus, on a cross much more rugged. His body beaten, skin torn, and the holes left in his hands and feet.

I come to you knowing that my only hope in obtaining holiness comes from you. Your life was lived as an example for me to emulate, and I still do so imperfectly. Forgive me from my sins and help me to walk in repentance and faith.

May my playing and singing in this act of worship today glorify your worthy name. May your Spirit who dwells within me ignite a flame of praise that exhorts the back row of the congregation to do the same. May the hope of everlasting life in you resonate with those who have you and need you.

Use my weary efforts as you see fit, and help this team to truly worship you.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen.
