Leader:

Lord God,

Thank you for these friends of mine. Thank you for the food which you have provided for us. The holy sacrifice of your Son on the cross allows us to commune with each other after having been cleansed from our sins by his blood. Thank you for unifying us in the bond of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for the assurance and hope in Christ, by which we may now rest.

People:

May our eating, drinking, and conversation be glorifying to you. As we are nourished by your Word and these friendships, may this food nourish our bodies. As we drink together, may we remember your blood-bought grace for us. May we commune with each other in grace, peace, and unity because your Spirit abides in us.

Leader:

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope" (Romans 15:13).

People:

Amen.
